It also affects your ability to cope with stress, overcome challenges, build relationships, and recover from life’s setbacks and hardships. Fad diets can range from totally useless to very harmful. Your mental health influences how you think, feel, and behave in daily life. Eating nutritious meals regularly keeps your body functioning the way it should. When you eat at restaurants, choose menu items that will provide a balanced meal in a regular portion size.Įxercise your brain by doing a crossword puzzle, reading the newspaper or a good book, or learning about something new.ĭon’t skip meals. Wellness is also about your mental health, the relationships you have, your financial health and whether you have enough food to eat and a secure place to live. Join the group and other individuals who will help you strive to reach your goals. Keep the Word of Wisdom, and stay away from any substances you know are addictive or dangerous. Community There’s something special about being in a space with other individuals who are inspiring to become healthy. Foods that may seem healthy aren’t always nutritious. And take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator when you can.Ĭheck the labels on the food you buy. Walking just a mile or two a day can make a big difference. Walk instead of driving to destinations that are reasonably close and safe. And I assume you are apart of that, as am I. Go to bed at a reasonable hour (see D&C 88:124), and get at least eight hours of sleep if possible. Instead of drinking a can of soda pop, have a glass of water, milk, or natural fruit juice.
